WEAT Sacco Society is a licensed Deposit Taking Sacco established in 2018 and registered in 2019 under Kenyan Law reg No.Cs/23652, with the Sole objective of uplifting the members’ social economic wellbeing. In October 2018, members of a common bond from Boda boda operation, Sand loaders, livestock traders and various women and youth self-help groups pooled together to facilitate savings through the Sacco.
WEAT SACCO operates both as a micro finance institution for savings and loans and as an umbrella welfare Association that can economically transform all women and Youths Self-help groups in lsiolo County, through Economic and Livelihood Recovery Fund solicited inform of pooled fund.
The Sacco which encourages members to do monthly savings, apply for loans and engage in micro-enterprises relating to Crop and Livestock value chains, envisions its achievement in transforming the lives of reformed poachers, reformed illicit brewers, cattle raiders and reformed charcoal burners to be Champions in Micro-enterprises, Livelihood resilience & Climate change.
Guided by a Loan Policy, the Sacco intends to organize and promote the welfare and economic interests of its members, through savings culture to create a source of fund for fair Loans. The membership is open to all Kenyans regardless of tribe, religion and race. WEAT Sacco is keen in optimal utilization of the locally available natural resources and loans, in order to transform the lifestyle of its members.
